Long weekend of no kids, household chores, fighting off an infection and more. I’m way behind in my NaNo but the bones are there. I thought today would be the day to catch up. Guess I was wrong. Off to bed now. But first… Happy 17th Birthday to my sweet Simone! (@right) Friday night was Homecoming at Encinal and also the Island Bowl, the cross-town rivalry game (EHS beat AHS). The seniors from the football team and cheer squad were honored, so we got to walk Simone across the field with a bouquet of flowers to celebrate her moving on from senior class to The Big World. Friend Mark Morford writes about the (feminine) sacred and the (masculine) profane in his San Francisco Chronicle/http://www.sfgate.com/ column today — and refers to his spiel at Alameda Literati. plus one more
Just heard this: Bay Area BusinessWoman has a page 3 feature on me this month — mostly reproducing the now world-famous press release, but using a different pic (one of my blog pix). I haven’t seen it yet but it’s out in print all over the 9-county Bay Area (including the North Bay, peoples!). If you see one, grab it. Their Web site hasn’t been updated to Nov issue yet but the site is http://www.babwnews.com/ Check back and see. If you have absolutely-nothing-else-to-do.

Fame…I’monna live 4ever
Yeah, right. Actually, just wanted to report that the California Newspaper Publishers’ Association (CNPA) ran the article about me in this week’s e-edition (weekly news) and then someone from Editor and Publisher called to follow up. So a national trade journal is writing something about me, not that I actually talked to them. The partners did the talking. I was busy beating my children or something. Everyone is tired and grumpy and half-sick with colds again. But I’m writing fiction and so freaking happy about that I could squeak. eek! Go read my NaNo if you want some storytime. www.juliasnano.blogspot.com — I’m having a gas with it. I’m 3000 words…
