    Weekend Warrior…

…not! Getting ready to do a fat lotta nothin this weekend, which is not how it will turn out. I know I’m having a fledgling writers’ group here on Sunday to get them kick-started. It will be fun to help them gain some momentum. That means — gulp — clean up the living room and bake something. The Boy was ill all week but no one else here is ill, so he must not have been too contagious. Health-wise, I’m gonna try to make it to yoga tomorrow. I may get a financial report out of the way if I’m in the mood, although I tend to procrastinate on those…

    blogging the sphere

Or should that be spearing the blog? Blogger tells me it is on a scheduled outage, so no telling when this will post. (!) I’ve been editing a fascinating book by one of our new authors, about the discovery and passage of the Anza Trail. Her photos are gorgeous — a look at an old historical venture through the photographer’s eye, 21st century. It is good reading but lots of details to watch for (like checking the Spanish translations) so it has taken me longer than I expected. That’s work. Eco-Mama’s Muse

…or…My Eco-Conscious Day: An Accounting Drove the Boy to school. NOT eco (but not late, either) Drove home and rousted college daughter out of bed and into car on the toe of my boot: NOT eco. Not late for class, but almost. Brought my lunch to work, consisting of all the stuff I put into two kids’ lunches for the past three days that they refused to eat = half a container of Annie’s bunny crackers, half container of raisins, raw carrots and pea pods (organic!) in a Tupperware without a lid, container of cinnamon organic baby cereal (good snacking). Plus assorted stuff in my desk at work (crackers, hot…

    Siete de Mayo

~ 7 ~ You heard nothing but silence from me during the Big Weekend, and the aftermath was deadlines, deadlines…so back at the keyboard again. I was not feeling well (see prev entry) so did not make it to two Saturday events but we still had 10,000 guests coming over, well, maybe just 75 or so of our closest friends, so on with the show. We did indeed have that fiesta and it was FABU! Truly fun, with chips and salsa and guac coming out our ears, not literally — but all of it delicious — and then an astoundingly scrumptious array of potluck Mex fare. So yummy. Lots of…

    two steps forward

one baby step back…Mother, may I? Big fiesta at our place tomorrow — El Tres de Mayo, so come if you want to. Wear your huaraches and bring a Mexican dish to share (we have chips and salsa to feed a platoon, so skip those), and a tasty beverage of choice. BBQ will be going if you want to cook meat-like things. Firepit will be going if you want to get warm, in case it’s cold, which it will be. It always is out here in Scotland, I mean, Alameda Point. Fiesta is 3 pm to 10 pm and not a minute later. I need my beauty rest, and so…
