this week
tomorrow’s paper done, front page coverage of fire, taxes, task forces and development. Same as it ever was…;-) more to come next week. The sale at Hank Hooper’s Hootenanny went well, although we sold practically nothing. I say it went well because there were lots of ooohs and aahhhs over the merch but there were so many kids there and we had virtually nothing to buy for kids. That helps to know. Aprons, etc., in smaller sizes to come. This weekend I have “nothing” on the agenda, which means it will be filled with something. Maybe more crafting. More merch. We’re looking ahead at a possible move, as I think…

monday monday monday
spent the weekend working, I mean WORKING. Idle hands and all that…Got going on some recycled products for our upcoming show at Rhythmix next weekend (see http://www.blacknwhitenredallover.blogspot.com/ to know what the hell I’m talking about). I got to work on an apron pattern and spent considerable time this weekend figuring out how to piece, trim, and streamline production of said apron. These are adorable — cute found or vintage fabrics with vintage trims, in saucy combinations of pink and black, fun fabrics from the past, or retro prints, rescued quilt pieces, etc. Saved from landfill! Very cute, and I will have about a dozen for next week. Come to Hank…

My kitten Ophelia (O-fie or Fifi, dending on the moment) is snoozing and drooling on my lap. She’s a luv bug. There’s nothing in the world like a snuggle-kitten. Prrrr. (Sorry about that. It’s gushy but it’s true. She missed me. That’s what the drool means.) After a full day in the garden (ow, sunburned and sore), I am getting ready for the new week. No school all week so the kids are at home, rotating babysitting the Boy every day. We just ate a fine fabulous Easter dinner with ham and all the trimmings, including Husband’s Spanish grandmother’s arroz con pollo with lots of saffron. Delicious. Cousin Colin joined…

Fried-Day
What a week! Blessed relief that it’s almost over. But it’s rather exciting when news happens. A nice twist from biz-as-uze. (http://www.lunafest.org/the-films.cfm It’s a very cool event — bring your over-12s, and menfolk — this is for anyone but they are films by and about women. Plus there will be FREE Luna bars to eat. And lots of people. Friends and relations. You know — the usual suspects. Also this weekend — the Boys & Girls Club Auction/Dinner — I’ve gone to this many a time and it is great fun — alas, I am unable to go this year. And. Also. Many more events. I need to clone myself…

time out, time off, tune in again…
Hi again. Sorry about that. It’s been busy. I know I always say that, but it has. Why, just this week we’ve had crazybusy antics with the school budget and student protest walkouts (see http://www.alamedasun.com/ for the scoop), and Tuesday’s school board meeting when budget cuts were decided went until about 1:30 a.m. I was there. Ack. And: this coming weekend is LunaFest, an awesome women’s film festival that is a fundraiser for breast cancer research via Luna Bar (yum), as well as the Family of Women (my women’s group) and it’s also Junior Prom Night for Alameda High, and two of our girls are going (ka-ching! hair, nails, flowers,…
